How long you are into this business?

 Since 2008

What was the driving force for you to start your business?

Long before Real works started, I was into a venture called Palette which was the first step of my entrepreneurial journey.

I had a couple of friends in my neighborhood, who thought my skill in the art could be put to use if we built a business around it. We started Palette as a partnership firm, which went on well for a couple of years, with me handling the creative and technical stuff, and my friends handling the finance and business development part of Palette.

Circumstances didn’t allow us to continue beyond 2 years, but I had learned a lot in technology, media, and clients during that period.

I went on to pursue my career in a couple of media companies, I was not contented with the jobs that were thrown at me, but I couldn’t change the way the world worked. So I decided to create my own world, where people would be allowed to fail, learn, experiment, grow, and innovate.

That was the driving force for me to start Real works Studios

In terms of a Financially and socially successful company, No

In terms of creating a technologically and culturally strong company, Yes

In terms of building a platform for people to grow, Yes

Who is your target audience?

Anybody who needs to visualise an idea, product, character, or space.

What is the most challenging aspect of your business?

Social pressure, to go behind money and not happiness

Clients who don’t understand that payment on time is as important as product delivery on time.

If you are given a chance to start any business other than the one you are currently into, which one would it be and why?

I would be building some technological gadget company, maybe a motion capture device or motion control camera. Because I love learning new stuff, I love physics and I understand technology,

Your Suggestion to the start-up companies and entrepreneurs.

Start small, keep the team happy, invest in technology and knowledge, not in fancy office space. consistently add value to your product or service and don’t give up.

What is success according to you?

Going back home every day and sleeping like a baby, knowing that you have spent your day well. That’s a success for me.

List a few of the most challenging situations you have faced in your entrepreneurial journey.

Making people see what you are seeing

Running a team without money for a couple of months, I mean zero money

When your decision is going to make or break the future, life, and happiness of the people who trust you. That’s the most challenging one.

Who/What is your greatest inspiration and why?

“V” from the movie V for Vendetta, for believing in an idea, and for having the resolve to see it through.

What is your leadership/management style?

I just let people learn at their own pace, and let them make mistakes, and let them learn from it. When somebody gives up and says it can’t be done, I try to do that along with them and show them that it was not an impossible task, only their method was different.

What is your leadership mantra?

Empathy
